Tunable Drug Release Rate Using Modular Oral Dosage Forms

چکیده

Oral dosage forms with adjustable drug release profiles were prepared using progesterone (PGR) as a poorly-soluble model drug. The made stack assemblies of functional modules. modules PGR-carrying HPMC films cut into wafer-like circular pieces. Two types used in the study; one exhibited comparatively fast and other slow release. vs. each type film utilized resulted from grade case. Drug loading assembly was controlled through total number By adjusting proportions two modules, it is possible to fine-tune rate multi-layer wide range profiles, bracketed between high low end, corresponding inherently fastest or slowest obtainable specific materials procedures employed. This procedure suitable for spring-and-parachute parameters enhancing/optimizing bioavailability drugs, developing patient-centric formulations.
